Bluebell Wood Boarding Kennels Fundraising 2015

August

The sun very much had his hat on for this weekend and this year's dog show at Montrollet. Which, sadly may have been why the event was generally a bit quieter than previous years.

Most of the classes were well attended and as well as many new faces we had some reigning champions back to fight for their titles.     The Young Handler's class was popular, although at times a tad chaotic with very small bodies desperately trying to hold back large dogs who had spotted a friend in the next ring.

Once again the scurry was very popular, but our star event of show this year, was the newly introduced Water Retrieve.   Mind, with the scorching temperatures, I think the dogs were jumping in just to cool off!    Some did not bother to bring anything back and just enjoyed the swim back and forth and around and around.  Others had obviously been practising and clocked up some fast times.  At one stage, a very enthusiastic owner got so excited I thought she was going in as well.   One little terrier had more fun trying to bring back the buoy markers.    Needless to say, he won the rosette for the funniest dog.

The afternoon was rounded off with a presentation of rosettes and prizes for the winners and all left proudly displaying their medal awards for entering and taking part.

During the afternoon we raised a total of 310€, to which will be added to the tombola planned for a Christmas market later in the year.   If you see us out and about, please buy a ticket or two so we can send off as much as possible to the animal charities - SPA and Phoenix Association.

Thank you to the volunteers and supporters, without you, these fund raising events would not happen.....  hope to see you at the next one!!
